FedEx approved shipping automations
The FedEx Authorized ShipCenter (FASC) Program requires FASC locations to utilize a FedEx-approved automation to process all FedEx shipments tendered by you to FedEx. This includes automation provided by FedEx, or automation provided by a third-party that is approved by FedEx.
The shipping automation solutions below are approved for use in the FASC Program and enable key features for: shipment rating and label creation, drop off scan processing, QR code scanning for FedEx Returns labels, and Hold at Location shipment processing.**

Hardware requirements
To leverage shipping automation solutions, the minimum hardware requirements are as follows:
-
Computer
-
Monitor

FedEx does not provide any scanners or hardware. FASCs are required to provide their own hardware or equipment to perform required business functions.

Most standard, unprogrammed 2D barcode scanners will work with RetailShip. 2D scanners are preferred, as they can read QR codes, as well as traditional 1D barcode labels. You can also use the camera on your laptop, smartphone, or tablet to scan barcode labels and QR codes, when signed into RetailShip on the device’s browser. For convenience, speed, and accuracy, we recommend scanning from a supported device but tracking numbers and QR code identifiers can be entered manually into RetailShip, if required. See the RetailShip user guide for more details.
RetailShip helps you meet the new drop off scan requirement while providing other convenient, optional features. You can continue to use Ship Manager for rating and label creation if you’d like, but RetailShip’s shipping features may offer a more convenient option. RetailShip uses the same engine as FedEx ShipManager, but with simple steps and prompts for comparing rates and creating labels. You also can apply markup or margin to the rates that are displayed.
